Almost as soon as you get engaged you’re bound to hear these questions. “So where are you getting married?” “When’s the big day?” Of course those questions can quickly turn a joyful occasion into a stressful time of thinking you need to get down to business. We’re here to help! Below is our list of the 21 best wedding venues in Columbus, Ohio. With so many different options we’re sure that you can find the perfect location for your big day.

The Ohio State House

Resolute is the word that comes to mind every time I see that Ohio State House. It is unwavering, reassuring, dependable symbol of trust, and therefore the perfect place to begin your life together. Completed in 1861, this seat of government was designed in the Greek-revival style, and is adorned with magnificent pillars and seemingly endless marble. The simplistic grandeur of the state house emphases the importance that a wedding day warrants. From its vaulted ceilings, sweeping staircases, pristine façade, and prominent rotunda, you simply cannot go wrong choosing the Ohio State House as your wedding venue. And don’t forget that the State House in smack-dab in the middle of downtown Columbus. This will allow for countless wedding photography opportunities nestled among the skyscrapers.

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

Our next venue takes us just a mile or so down Broad Street to the Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. The Conservatory is a lush oasis just east of downtown Columbus. Its sprawling thirteen acre garden exemplifies the vast diversity of plant and animal life across the globe. Offering climate controlled greenhouses and even a large butterfly enclosure, there is something for everyone. The Conservatory is constantly changing with the seasons and offering new experiences. Fall is our favorite time, when pumpkins and mums invade the gardens!

This beautiful setting offers a number of locations to tie the knot and celebrate you nuptials. From the Palm House, a glass encased jungle, to the Grand Atrium with soaring ceiling, to the quaint Veridian that offers your own private garden. Want a barn wedding without leaving the city? The Wells barn is a 200 year old barn imported from Richland county Ohio that was moved and repurposed to the Conservatory. The rustic meets modern barn is the perfect place to celebrate your new marriage, and sits among a four acre community garden. Perfect for guest who want to catch a breath of fresh air, while nibbling on tasty hors d’oeuvres.

Jorgensen Farms

Jorgensen Farms is simplistic, rural beauty at its finest. This pristine estate is mere minutes from downtown New Albany, Ohio and close to major highways; although you would never know it walking the grounds of the farm. Jorgensen Farms transports you to a place of tranquility that is hard to match. Boasting two separate venues on their property, the farm exemplifies the natural world and our place within it. The primary location is the historic barn that immerses you in a unique and relaxing environment, surrounded by high quality reclaimed materials. Just outside the barn you will find yourself in the farm’s flower field, whose beauty is ever changing with the seasons.

Oak Grove is Jorgensen Farms newest location to spend your wedding day. A large Lord & Burnham greenhouse encases you and your day in glass, offering unparalleled view of the country side around you rain of shine. Whether you chose the Historic Barn or Oak Grove, you really cannot go wrong with Jorgensen Farms. The venue’s beauty paired with the wonderful customer service experience will leave you wanting for nothing on your big day.

The Estate at New Albany

Our next venue is just down the road, still within the village of New Albany. The Estate at New Albany is a brand new purpose build event center that sits within five acres of wooded land. The clean modern style of venue invokes a sense of class while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. Two spacious suites, a full bar, large foyer, and the great hall allows the Estate at New Albany to accommodate 350 of your closest friends and family. With both indoor and outdoor ceremony cites, you can book with confidence that no matter the weather your day will run as smooth as silk.

The Club at Corazon

Many of the venues we talk about in this post will transport you place out of the ordinary. However, no other venue can take you away like the Club at Corazon. Located in the suburb of Dublin, this Tuscan inspired estate will have you thinking you are in the Italian countryside. With perfectly manicured landscaping, fountains, and even a waterfall, the Club at Corazon will not disappoint in any way. Classical style meets contemporary convenience in this world class event center.

The Athletic Club of Columbus

Maybe a venue with a little history behind it is what you are looking for. The historic Athletic Club of Columbus founded in 1912 offers a dose of local history paired with modern living. From a classically exquisite interior, to a modern and trendy bowling alley, the Athletic Club of Columbus offers it all! For proof of this you only have to look at the distinguished members and former guest of the club, which includes former presidents, senators, CEOs, ambassadors, Hollywood stars, and more. The club is not short for space by any means. Capable of entertaining up to 350 guests, the club offers nine dedicated event spaces.

The Westin Great Southern Columbus

No matter the style or theme, each wedding is elegant in its own way. It is the bringing together of not just two individuals, but to families in loving support of each other. For a building to be elegant though, it has to have more than just love to make it work. Elegance in my mind cast images of ornate fireplace mantles, sweeping linens, and wide open ball rooms for both dining and dancing. Maybe the tango, or a sophisticated waltz? Okay in all honesty, the cupid shuffle is probably more my speed. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a fairy tale wedding in a magnificent ball room, reminiscent of European royalty, the Westin is the wedding venue for you.

This massive hotel in downtown Columbus offers class and comfort at an unparalleled level. With a total of ten event rooms, and a capacity for 450 wedding guest, you’ll be sure to have plenty of space. And at the end of the night, your room is just an elevator ride away!

Pinnacle Golf Club

I love Golf, but I must confess that I am horrible at it. But my terrible skills at this Scottish nobleman’s game should not deter you from considering the Pinnacle Golf Club for your wedding day. At first sight Pinnacle’s stately clubhouse immediately strikes a sense of class into you. This beautifully manicured building and landscaping create a beautiful backdrop for your big day. The sophistication continues to the clubhouse interior where no detail is deemed too small. The main hall is filled with natural light, as well as the warm glow of ornate chandeliers. With a capacity for up to 400 guests, Pinnacle Golf Club will ensure your big day is a major success.

Magnolia Hill Farm

Any Chip and Jojo fans out there? Okay they are amazing, but this is not their farm. But it is not a stretch of the imagination to say that the Texas Fixer Uppers would be impressed by this venue. Located just north of Columbus in rural Centerberg, Ohio, Magnolia Hill Farm is a brand new venue that opened up just this past June. And let me tell you, IT IS AMAZING! The venue sports a full bridal suite, a groom’s lounge and fully stocked prep kitchen for vendors. The main hall, the Magnolia Hall, is a beautiful, simple, and clean space to celebrate your nuptials. With both indoor and outdoor ceremony locations, and beautiful courtyard, this pristine estate has everything you could ever want or need in a wedding venue.

The Grand Event Center at Grandview

Located in the trendy city of Grandview, this venue is minutes away from downtown Columbus. This modern interpretation of an event center cast away impressions of dark, poorly lit gathering halls of the past. Large floor to ceiling windows, and an expansive open air courtyard ensure plenty of natural light on your big day. It also allows a view of the cosmos as your party continues into the night. The 4,000 square-foot ball room will provide ample space for you and your guest to dance the night away! That is after their culinary staff and executive chief cater to you a fine meal that you will not forget! At the end of night there are two adjacent hotels you and your guest can retreat to. This ensures your wedding day will be stress free from start to finish!

The Postmark

With free two day shipping and online transactions, I’m not sure of the last time I went into a post office. Well an active post office that is! However our next venue is a post office that transformed into a gorgeous wedding venue. Located just under an hour outside of Columbus in Chillicothe, Ohio resides the Postmark. A former US Postal Service building built in 1903, this building is truly an awe-inspiring piece of architecture. This truly unique venue will ensure that your wedding has its own exclusive feel and image. With a stately foyer and a magnificent main hall there are so many amazing places in this building. The Postmark will be sure to give you memories to last a lifetime.

Swan Lake Event Center

Any ballet fans out there? The graceful dancers, the majestic singing, and the perfectly coordinated orchestra? Okay I’ve never been to the ballet, we are more of the baseball kinda folk, but I hear it’s quite lovely. Just like the classic ballet that our next venue shares a name with, the Swan Lake Event Center in Powell, Ohio is the personification of class and timeless beauty.

Sprawling across 20 acres, this brand new event center brings together clean and classic style with modern conveniences. Two large bridal suites give both sides of the wedding party ample space to get ready and relax before the ceremony begins. Where the ceremony is located is up to you! In addition to a beautiful indoor hall, Swan Lake offers three different outdoor ceremony options each stunning in their own way. And in case you were wondering, there is of course a three acre lake home to several swans!

Darby House

Our next venue takes us twenty minutes west of downtown Columbus to the town of Galloway, Ohio. Nestled along the Darby creek is 110 acres of land once dedicated to breeding horses, two of which went on to win the Kentucky Derby! The property is still owned by the same family, and they have transitioned the original house to a beautiful event center. You are immediately greeted by a tree lined lane that leads you to the Darby House. The house itself is a tranquil and elegant manor with floor to ceiling windows to bring in ample amount of natural light.

Offering both inside and outside ceremony options, the outdoor option sets you and your guest under mature trees and beside the calm waters of the Darby creek. After the ceremony you and your bridal party have tons of options for photos, from a rustic barn, a tranquil pond, and rolling pastures populated with majestic bison and playful deer!

Via Vecchia

My great great grandmother immigrated to the United States from Italy in the early 20th century. She lived to be 102 and I was lucky enough to know her briefly when I was young. Grandma was always in good spirits, and had a thick Italian accent all her life. She was adventurous but knew the importance tradition. The same can be said about Via Vecchia. While an industrial style winery is very new age, the art of making wine is as old as civilization itself.

Located in the heart of Columbus on south High St., Via Vecchia blends the new with the old seamlessly to give you a unique wedding day experience. Their expansive terrace and large courtyard allow your guests to enjoy both indoors and out. And when you want a little bit of quiet time with your significant other, take a walk through the venues 11,000 square-foot garden. There you will enjoy the urban park ambiance.

High Line Car House

Moving north on High St. from the Via Vecchia winery to the Brewery District, we come across the historic High Line Car House. Reminiscent of a forgotten and brief time when street cars roamed downtown Columbus, the High Line Car House is a former maintenance facility for the electric street cars. Today its tall, warm brick walls and exposed beams act as a beautiful example of industrial architecture. The tall windows and chandeliers bath the venue in a warm and welcoming light, ideal for bringing together two families to celebrate marriage. With an exclusive caterer, you will be sure to enjoy a five star dining experience in the eclectic venue. The inviting manner of the High Line Car House cannot be understated, simply put it is an amazing venue to begin your marriage.

Irongate Equestrian Wedding Venue & Center

Let’s move east of Columbus, to Licking county. Nestled in the rolling green hills and pastures, is the Irongate Wedding Venue and Equestrian Center. A 105 acres estate in Hartford, OH dedicated to providing a premier wedding day experience. Irongate’s magnificent 3 story, 60,000 square-foot barn is
nothing short of the perfect rustic venue. With both indoor and outdoor ceremony locations, a full bar and of course beautiful horses that would love to play a role in your big day!

The Columbus Museum of Art offers multiple ceremony locations, inside and out, including the Patrica M. Jurgensen Sculpture Garden, a manicured garden that offers a beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception space. The Derby Court & The McCoy Family Broad Street Lobby is slightly smaller but offers the
breathtaking skylight ceiling. And if you want a little more space, you can always rent out the whole museum!

Strongwater Food & Spirits

If your looking for a unique and trendy venue that has a relaxed and casual feel, we highly recommend Strongwater Food & Spirits. Located west of downtown on Town St. and only a few blocks
from the Scioto River, Strongwater provides a beautiful urban aesthetic. With plenty of natural light, aged brick and a number of rooms that can accommodate any manner of event. With an amazing staff that see it’s fair variety of events, nothing you throw at them will knock them out of balance. While The full bar, and open-air courtyard will make you feel right at home under the warm string lights!

The Brookshire

North of Columbus in Delaware conveniently located just off state route 23, you will find the tranquil grounds of the Brookshire Event Venue. This elegant and timeless venue offers a sophistication that is hard match anywhere. That is partly because the Brookshire was specifically designed to cater to weddings first and foremost. The venue also has a great variety of spaces to enjoy, from a fully stocked bar, a micro vineyard, fire pit, gated garden, romantically lit terrace, and of course a beautiful courtyard to share your vows!

Four Seasons Barn

If we continue our tour up North, we find ourselves at the Four Seasons Barn in Cardington, OH. Fours Seasons Barn is an entirely new venue that opened in 2020. This premier barn venue offers the rustic aesthetic that one would desire in a country barn wedding. It also offers many modern day conveniences that most barns cannot offer. This 9,000 square-foot barn is climate controlled, so no matter what time a year you plan on tying the knot, you and your guests will be comfortable and be able to fully enjoy the big day!

Pair that with the venue’s large prep kitchen, and there is nothing that this venue cannot handle or provide for you on your wedding day!

The Fives

The Fives is another brand-new venue, and is located in downtown Columbus. The key there is downtown. You will not find a more beautiful venue that captures and frames the downtown skyline of the capital city! The Fives was entirely designed and built to offer its clients maximum natural light and amazing views of the city. The massive ballroom can fit 400 guests comfortably for a seated meal, and up to 750 for a cocktail reception. The ceiling towers above you at nearly twenty-five feet.
Floor to ceiling windows dominate the room, giving its occupants a breathtaking view of the city. And if you want a truly unimpeded view of the skyline just head upstairs to the open air terrace to soak in the view!
